For centuries the Sacred Mushroom Ritual
Has been a vehicle for reaching Eternity.
We need not risk physical ingestion,
And the possible effects of its deadly poison,
If we symbolically see this visual keyhole
As showing us the way to that other world
Far beyond our day to day comprehension.

Is the mushroom cloud of nuclear explosions
In some way Our symbolic keyhole
In the Door currently opening onto
The Planetary Consciousness of One Earth,
And the poisonous annihilation possible
If we refuse to Open the Door to Gaia?
