    A Prodigal Poet’s Plea

O Muse, are you here? I traveled
Many miles to you. On bended
Knees I beg forgiveness. No more
Phone calls or letters written. No
    Distance between us. Together
We can quickly cross frozen ground
And safely return to our home
    Before darkness leads us astray.

Nineteen Ninety One, May Day V

                         V
    Shattered and scattered:
Our Founding Fathers have suffered another death.
Their dusty bones can be heard rattling throughout
    The late twentieth century democracy
That allows science and technology to run amok,
Finally destroying any recognition of their Dream.

    The Stage of Life

    THE STAGE OF LIFE

    Emerging
Through a crack in the mask
    Is Life’s full potential
    Striving to break through
    Beyond a persona
    Wandering in shadows
    To ultimately become
    The One that I AM
    When finally knowing
    I AM One
    With the ONE

“When the bright lights lost their luster

When the bright lights lost their luster,
    The bittersweet carrot disappeared,
And I began the task of looking,
In hopes of one day Seeing.

    Beyond

    With strength of mind
    And purpose,
    One may
    Force the Seer
    To close his eyes
    In perplexing confusion,
    Thusly freeing
    The sixth sense
    From becoming
    Someone’s bondage,
    God and guiding light.

    “It is now winter”

    It is now winter;
    The end—
    The beginning—
    And an avalanche of thought
    For everyone.

    Through Pisces to Aquarius V

                    V
Ones and zeros. Zeros and ones.
    In proper combinations,
Our loved ones become the graphics
    On ever faster computer screens.
All problems can be solved with more
    Available information;
    Efficiency becomes the key
    To a positive bottom line.
    Compute more data. Garbage in,
More garbage out, up, down, around.

    Rising Tide

    Reaching further, cutting deeper,
    The seventh wave violates
    This once peaceful shore,
And as the chaotic tide rises
Our secure center trembles and quakes
In the cold grey dawn of decline.

    Birthing III

We have returned to the crossroads
Only to find all signs point Home

Again the choice is ours to make
Of hoping the Child is stillborn
    Further delaying our journey
As we spin faster and faster
    On the merry-go-round of life
