On the pyre of worldly ambition,
Releasing it into the illusory world
Of its own creation,
And become consumed 
In the Phoenix Flame
Of your True Being;
Allowing its Reality to Become.

Through the pink falling rain
The illusive catbird
Clearly calls me by name

Hanging from folded clouds
Rainbow fragments
Vanish     Reappear    
Then lengthen and double     
Brushstroking
The reflected mountains
To leave the lake awash
In kaleidoscopic color

Faces of the City

Blankly walking the shadowed streets
Where this world and that too often meet,
A feeling of Truth’s impassioned rage
Suddenly jolts and jars the bars
Surrounding the serenely caged.

Cracked pavement lines the faces
Groping for any reality
Which produces ways to end
These sleepless nights and wakeful days.

There came this man from Galilee
   Showing life’s direction with Love; 
   Some say he could walk on water,
   God’s emissary from above,
While in His name some charge a fee
   To purge others from mortal sin.
      He has been taken into battle,
      Worshipped from palace to gutter,
      And although the debates still rattle,
   His flame burns outside and within.
He points to Immortality
   With the Christ Consciousness to win. . .
   Our choice is fall, or to begin.
